The ultimate purpose of the LLN Student Club is to provide its members with a supportive circle in which their cultural values are embraced and celebrated, and they are encouraged to excel in their academic pursuits. Further, psycho-educational topics will be discussed to address the various personal issues that can become roadblocks to completing educational goals, and that can interfere with everyday life.The mission of LLN is to provide mutual support, advocacy, and organization committed to providing effective opportunities to develop innovative approaches to increase the participation of Latinas in leadership roles. It is also to promote and maintain “la cultural Latina.”
The goals of LLN are to:
• Maintain a statewide educational and leadership network for Latinas in the California Community College system.
• Develop methodologies to address and overcome the systemic inequities that impede access and success of Latinas in the California Community Colleges.
• Mentor Latinas in achieving educational advancement and developing leadership skills in the California Community Colleges.
• Affirm and promote activities that celebrate the rich historical and cultural heritage of all Latinas.
• Establish and maintain supportive alliances beyond the community colleges.
